Daddy Compilation!

Do you need a soundtrack to your Father’s day? Not only can this be a very cute gift, but it could be entertaining for this special day years to come; a CD of songs about dads!

It’s really to make, taking you only about an hour to find the songs online, download them and voila! How fun of an idea is that!

Here a couple of great “dad songs: that could be including on your Daddy Compilation:

– These are about dysfuntional fathers, but hey! They are good songs anyways–we are not doing a soundtrack to your dad’s life, just a daddy-in-general inspired CD!! Papa was a Rolling Stone (Temptations) & Cats in the Cradle (Harry Chapin).

You have to throw in some Madonna– Papa Don’t Preach –and Lady Gaga– Speechless (written for her dad to encourage him to get the open heart surgery he needed). A Boy Named Sue (Johnny Cash) is also a good pick and The Living Years (Mike + The Mechanics) reminds you about things can go unsaid until it’s too late. Just pick up the phone. Or send a text. Whatever!! haha A life lesson while making the CD!

OF COURSE, you need to add in the tear jerkers: My Old Man (Ian Dury and the Blockheads), Song For Dad (Keith Urban), Dance with My Father (Luther Vandross), My Father’s Eyes (Eric Clapton) and Father and Son (Cat Stevens).

Did you know that  Wake Me Up When September Ends by Green Day was about dads? Don’t be fooled by the video, in which a teen loses her boyfriend at war. Apparently, it’s a memorial to Billie Joe Armstrong’s father, who died of cancer when Billie was 10 years old.

Finally, my favorite: Daddy by Beyonce. It’s about how Dad has always been there and nobody else could ever replace him. Even if heart broken, it won’t matter! You already have ”a man in my life that can’t be replaced. For this love is unconditional, it won’t go away,”! I love it!

There you go! A great daddy cd!!
