David Letterman’s Extortionist Nominated for an Emmy

Can you believe that David Letterman’s extortionist has been nominated for an Emmy!?!
Joe Halderman, who is currently serving a 6 month stint in jail for attempting to blackmail Letterman over a sex scandal, is up for a News and Documentary Emmy for contributing to an April 2009 segment on 48 Hours “American Girl, Italian Nightmare,” that detailed an American exchange student’s murder charge in Italy. It’s up for the Outstanding Continuing Coverage of a News Story in a News Magazine category.
The News and Documentary Emmy Awards will be handed out on September 27.
Will he get to do his acceptance speech from prison?
