Do you love your cell phone? Would you say you’ve got it under your skin? Nokia is researching a way to literally put them there with magnetic tattoos that vibrate when you get an alert / call / notification!
That’s what Nokia sees in the future — so much so that they have filed for a patent for “a material attachable to skin, the material capable of detecting a magnetic field and transferring a perceivable stimulus to the skin, wherein the perceivable stimulus relates to the magnetic field.” In everyday words, that means that they are trying to patent a material that could detect your phone’s magnetic field and would transfer that vibration your phone does when it gets a call to your skin!!
You would literally have a vibrating tattoo!!
Given that tattoos already contain metallic compounds, it would not be too tricky to make tattoos with ‘ink enriched by ferromagnetic or paramagnetic compounds’ …
The craziest part is that different magnetic fields could be used to provide different sensations — so, like ring tones, you would get a different sensation depending on who is calling, or if your battery is running low, or when you receive a text message!! 
How lazy are we becoming!? Is it so hard to take your phone out of your pocket and check who is calling or what that alert was? haha Cool concept nonetheless!

P.S. I think Nokia is also saying that you can stamp or spray this ferromagnetic material on your skin, not just tattoo… and the “implant” would be in either your finger, arm or stomach.
