Renting toys? Really?? Not only is it apparently cheaper, but it helps cut down on clutter and provides more stimulation for kids’ brains by regularly giving them new toys to play with.
The American site, called Toygaroo, is basically the Netflix for toys! It lets parents subscribe to plans that range in price from $24.99 to $52.99 per month, with kids getting four to eight toys every month or every other month. When the rental term is up, parents put the toys back in the box they came in and return them.
What about cleanliness?! Toygaroo’s website details the three-part process they use to avoid what they call the “yuck factor.” The toys are first steam-cleaned at 212 degrees to kill germs and bacteria, then they’re doused with an organic, bleach-free cleaning product used by hospitals, and finally checked by a sanitation inspector before being shrink-wrapped.
Interesting! I actually like the idea!
