Sun, sweat, a proposal and a marriage – this year’s London Marathon had it all.
While Nick Pinder, 27, proposed to his girlfriend Lisa Hacker, 31 about 200m from the finish line without stopping in their tracks, another couple took a little detour for a quickie. A quick wedding that is!
Rachel Pitt and her fiancé Garry Keates took time out from running the 42km course to get married.
The couple took a 1km detour, had a quick wash, were joined by 50 guests at their Church where they said their vows and tied the knot before finishing the run as husband and wife.
Mr Keates carried his bride over the finish line. She said: ‘It’s been the best day of my life, but I’ll never do it again.’
I wonder where their honeymoon will be and if they are going to run there too! Do you know of any other original wedding stories?!
