A 64-year-old woman has reported to doctors at Geneva University Hospital the presence of a pale, milky-white and translucent third arm that appeared a couple of days after suffering a stroke. Instead of calling her crazy, her neurologist examined the case, asked for an MRI and called it credible! The test showed that the woman actually experienced what she described!!
Apparently, the rare condition is called supernumerary phantom limb (SPL) and it’s not only a genuine head-scratcher — it’s literally a cheek scratcher!! The woman can actually use the imaginary arm to relieve very real itches on her cheek!!!
It is the first case known to doctors of a person being able to feel, see and deliberately move a limb that doesn’t exist. There are only nine known cases of a patient both feeling and seeing an arm without being able to move it. Crazy stuff, hey?!
What would you do if you had an invisible third arm?! I’d walk around pinching other people’s butts–they wouldn’t feel it, but I’d find it funny that I could!!
** Kevin called in and said that he’d slap the people he didn’t like! They can’t feel it, but it’s therapeutic!
**Joey would dig out boogers — nice Joey! lol Unfortunately, it can’t penetrate solid objects, so you would just be playing them instead of picking at them!!
