The creator of Doritos, Arch West, passed away a couple weeks ago at the age of 97. When time for the service rolled along, the family’s plans were to toss chips onto his urn before it was covered in dirt at the graveside. YES — they sprinkled doritos on their dead dad!!!
Mr West was in marketing with Frito-Lay in the 1960s when he pitched the idea of fried tortilla chips to the company. The market research he conducted led to the rollout of the Doritos brand — a chip we all love, no matter how stinky it is and how orange our fingers get!!
