Investigating the society that created Hitler, “Hitler and the Germans” is a new exhibition in Berlin’s German Historical Museum. It only opened on Friday and has already seen more than 10,000 visitors walk through its doors!!
I’ve waited in line to see the Anne Frank Museum, so I understand the interest of historical memoribilia, but on average people visiting the exhibition said they had waited as long as 1-1/2 hours to get in. Now that’s determination!
I can grasp the popularity though… it’s the 1st exhibition to explain how a man who lived on the margins of society for 30 years, in Vienna’s men’s hostels, could become an almost mythical leader of the German people and cause such a worldwide war.
One visitor was quoted saying: “I had to queue for about an hour but it was worth it. The exhibition should help people in democratic countries realize that their vote is very valuable.”
I’d definitely see that exhibition if it were to come here… Would you?
