I was thinking about those 33 Chilean gold and copper miners who have been trapped for nearly three weeks underground after a tunnel collapse… This weekend, they discovered that they were miraclelously still alive, but announced the bad news that they may have to face up to a four-month additional wait before they can be rescued… crazy!!
At least, the men are trapped in a living-room-sized underground shelter that is easily large enough for all 33 of them. They began getting food, water and oxygen and were able to speak via a newly-installed communication system. Doctors and psychological experts are working on what would need to be done to keep the trapped miners sane and mentally well during the months they’ll be underground.
